James Michael Davis, contract specialist

James Michael Davis, 78, of Rehoboth Beach, passed away suddenly Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2017, at Christiana Care Health Systems in Newark. He was born Dec. 21, 1938, in Washington, D.C., son of the late Marion Harris.

Mr. Davis worked for the U.S. government as a contract specialist for 30 years. When he was younger, he raced in road rallies as cars were his true love. He enjoyed travelling all over the world to many different countries. The ever-gracious host, you could always count on an invitation to join him for Sunday dinner.

Mr. Davis is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Blanche Davis of Rehoboth Beach; his children: John Davis (Mary Beth) of Crofton, Md., Mark Davis (Graciela) of Orlando, Fla., and Gina Davis-Brodeur (Dawn) of Elkridge, Md.; his two granddaughters, Johanna and Shannon; his brother, Mark Harris; and his sisters, Victoria Matthews (Daniel) and Helen McCauley of Harbeson.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, Dec. 22, at 2 p.m., at St. Edmond Catholic Church, 409 King Charles Ave., Rehoboth Beach.

Arrangements by Parsell Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, Lewes.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Davis' name to the Autism Delaware Society, 924 Old Harmony Road, Suite 201, Newark, DE 19713.
