James O. Blumenauer, telecommunications retiree

Mr. James O. Blumenauer, 85, of Lewes, passed away Sunday, July 30, 2017. He was the husband of the beloved Margretta Blumenauer for 61 years.

Born Jan. 16, 1932, in Frederick, Md., he was the son of the late George and Sallie (Watkins) Blumenauer.

He was a graduate of Frederick High School. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He worked in telecommunications at Fort Detrick for many years.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children, Wesley Blumenauer and wife Christine, Dawn Enfield and husband Bobby, Tanya Dunham and husband Terry, and Sallie Fauble and husband Luke; 11 grandchildren, Drew, Jamie, Jessie, Kristen, Erin, Taylor, Lindsay, James, Bradley, Marley, and Maddie; one great-grandchild, Eve; and a brother Donald Blumenauer.

He was predeceased by a brother, Leonard Blumenauer, a sister, Edith Remsberg, and a grandchild, Brian.

The family will receive friends at Stauffer Funeral Home, Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, Md., Thursday, Aug. 3, from 9 to 10 a.m. Service will follow at 10 a.m. Interment will be at Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
