James R. Doyle, retired electrician

James R. Doyle, 85, of Milton, passed away Wednesday, July 26, 2017, at Cadbury at Lewes. He was born Tuesday, April 5, 1932, in Philadelphia, Pa., son of the late John and Marie (Lawler) Doyle.

Mr. Doyle was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran who proudly served during the Korean Conflict. He made his career as an electrician with IBEW Local 2. Mr. Doyle was a member of the American Legion and was a Knight of Columbus. He enjoyed horses and golf, but truly cherished time spent with his family and friends. Mr. Doyle was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend, who was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Doyle was preceded in death by his first wife, Alexandra Doyle, and his second wife, Helen Y. Doyle. He is survived by his beloved wife, Sandra (Walker) Doyle of Milton; his sons: Anthony Doyle of Merced, Calif., and James Doyle Jr. of Port Murray, N.J.; his daughters: Judy Bohner of Long Valley, N.J., Maureen Doyle of Dallas, Texas, Hope Doyle of Takoma Park, Md., Gwen Rizzo of Lake Worth, Fla., and Alexandra Doyle of Dallas; his 16 grandchildren; his eight great-grandchildren; his brother, Joseph Doyle of Sunapee, N.H.; and his sister, Margaret Bouffard of Williamsburg, Va.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, July 31, at 11 a.m., at St. Jude The Apostle Catholic Church, 152 Tulip Drive, Lewes, where friends may call beginning at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at 1 p.m., at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro.

All arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Lewes.
