James Thomas Scheidly, retired pressman
Mr. James Thomas Scheidly, also known as "Tom," 80, of Lewes who was born Tuesday, April 13, 1937 in Essington, Pa., passed away peacefully at home Tuesday, April 10, 2018.
He was a retired pressman for the Wilmington News Journal. James was a loving and devoted father, grandfather and great-grandfather. James shared his love for the outdoors with his family. He taught his children how to fish and enjoy rivers, ponds and beaches. Dad's garage was popular in the neighborhood for bicycle repairs, shooting hoops, or a friendly chat.
In his retired years, James enjoyed a daily walk on the boardwalk.
James is survived by his two sons, Kenneth Scheidly and Kevin Scheidly; two daughters, Debbie Porter and Diane Lally; two brothers, Lawrence Scheidly and Michael Scheidly; one sister, Anna Marie Werner; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
