Janet Leigh Van Wagoner Garcia, true light

Janet Leigh Van Wagoner Garcia was born Dec. 3, 1932, and died Thursdsay, Jan. 24, 2018.

Janet was a true light to all who knew her. She is preceded in death by her husband Carlos A. Garcia (2001); and her husband Alfred G. Swearingen (1989).

She is survived by four of her five daughters, Susan Carroll and husband Ron of Ocean View, Cynthia Klipstein and husband Jeffrey of Old Greenwich, Conn., Barbara Hartman and husband Jerry of Seattle, Wash., and Marjorie Hammer and husband Roger of Seattle. She joins Katherine Leigh Swearingen heaven.

Jan has seven granddaughters and one grandson; 11 great-grandchildren; her brothers John Van Wagoner of McLean, Va., and Richard Van Wagoner of Great Falls, Va.; and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her close and dear friend Norman Justice.

A celebration of life will be held this summer in Bethany Beach. Mom, we miss you so much but we are happy you are in heaven. We love you always and forever.
