April 26, 2018

Southern Delaware Signs hosted a launch party for Jinx Live True Clothing, a brand geared towards extreme sports and promoting a positive message in Lewes April 14.

Established in 2017 by CJ Jarrell, JINX, an acronym for Journey in Xistence – Live True; has been a journey in its own right, but the passion and dedication to the cause and positive effects that this venture can have on many families has always pushed the team to work harder. Jarrell founded the company based on the platform of creating a creative and social outlet for those who not only are interested in the skateboarding or extreme sports culture, but also, have suffered or experienced addiction personally or have suffered inadvertently from the negative effects that surround compulsive tendencies related to drugs or alcohol. “You don’t have to live wasted to live extreme,” is the message that Jarrell and team wants to be heard.

“I saw an opportunity to share my story that resembles so many others’ struggles. Not only did I want to help improve myself but help others in the process. This is not just a brand, but a family. If we can make a positive contribution to just one person by creating a positive outlet, then we have done our job; clearly, we hope to grow the brand and shed light on the growing problem surrounding addiction. We wanted to start right here in our local community but have plans to expand across the East Coast, and eventually throughout the country with the continued support of those involved. Our positive outlook and message should resonate among all,” said Jarrell. “I have a great team and even better friends who have helped this idea become a reality with Graphic Designer and Marketing Director Chris Walker, Headwear Specialist Shawn Murphy, Southern Delaware Signs Owner DJ Baker, and many other contributors. Without them I would be lost; I appreciate their hard work and dedication,” he added.

Jarrell has partnered with Southern Delaware Signs and Owner DJ Baker to establish a storefront for his clothing and headwear located in Lewes. A variety of shirts and headwear containing different designs is available for purchase in the storefront at Southern Delaware Signs. “Working with CJ on this project was a no brainer. This idea has been growing for a long time and has come to fruition. This brand is a perfect combination of different elements such as a positive message, relative content, and various clothing offerings. At Southern Delaware Signs it is important for us to grow the community in a constructive and meaningful manner,” said Baker.

This event featured a special guest, who has supported Jarrell from the beginning, Brandon Novak. Novak is notable for his role in the MTV Series “Jackass” but has focused much of his time recently on assisting in the treatment of those who have suffered from drug and alcohol abuse. “Addiction does not discriminate, and this disease is a terrible epidemic that is sweeping our nation. After suffering from addictive tendencies throughout my life, I had realized that I was getting in my own way when trying to find help. JINX has embodied the work that I do on a daily basis by taking a stand on the front lines of the fight for sobriety. Being able to be a part of this and help promote a brand that is taking action to help others who have been deemed unfixable is so important to me. People think that they have been counted out, but we are here for you and will do anything in our power to help you overcome this disease. People need to realize that history does not dictate the future, and as long as you are breathing it’s not too late. Working with CJ and the whole team at JINX and Southern Delaware signs has been a pleasure, and I look forward to contributing to the platform they have created. I can’t wait to come back here,” said Novak.

The day was filled with trying on hats and shirts, autographs, pictures, and sharing of stories relating among all whom attended. JINX Live True plans to expand merchandising in the region at local skate and surf shops around the coast.
