Joan Marie Dalphon, enjoyed golfing

Joan Marie Dalphon of Bethany Beach  passed away peacefully in her home after a long illness Monday, May 21, 2018. She was born Sept. 5, 1931.
Joan grew up in Wilmington and graduated from Pierre S. duPont High School in 1949. She spent her life loving and taking care of her children and grandchildren. She often played golf, and during her senior years ran in 5K races.
A loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she is survived by her husband of 67 years Charles F. Dalphon Jr. of Bethany Beach; a sister, Shirley Nardo; her son, Charles F. Dalphon III and his wife Dorothy L. Dalphon; a daughter, Karen A. Cesna and her husband Eric S. Cesna; and a son, Brian D. Dalphon and his wife Susan L. Dalphon. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, Dana Berry, Steven Dalphon and his wife Katie Dalphon, Matthew Dalphon, Hilary Cesna, Kristin Dalphon, Katelyn Dalphon, Alex Cesna, Connor Dalphon and Haley Dalphon; and two great-grandchildren.
A celebration of her life will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, May 25, at the Ocean View Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 38040 Muddy Neck Road Ocean View, where friends and family may gather after noon. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in Joan's name to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
