John J. Leyanna, Marine Corps veteran

John J. Leyanna, 90, of Millsboro, formerly of Newark, passed away Wednesday, June 6, 2018, at his home.
He was born in Milmont Park, Pa., April 24, 1928, son of the late Clarence A. Leyanna and the late Florence (Eckert) Leyanna. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1950-53, and then enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps and served from 1953-56. John retired from Chrysler Parts in October 1989.
John was a member of American Legion Post 28 in Millsboro, and enjoyed collecting coins and cars.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Elsie D. Leyanna in 1996; and four brothers, Clarence, Leo, Leonard and James.
Services and burial will be held privately at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Bear.
