Joyce D. Taylor, cafeteria worker

Joyce D. Taylor, 86, of Dagsboro, passed away Monday, Dec. 18, 2017, at Delmar Nursing Home while surrounded by her loving family.
Joyce was born in the United Kingdom Aug. 6, 1931, daughter of the late Frank Devine and the late Mary Alice (Morgan) Devine. She worked as a cafeteria worker at Lord Baltimore Elementary School in Ocean View, retiring in 1988.
Joyce enjoyed reading, dancing, watching Orioles baseball and playing Yahtzee. Although she lived most of her life in the United States, she was still fond of her home country, the United Kingdom. She will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Denis Taylor in 2010; and a son, Paul Taylor, in 2009. She is survived by a daughter, Denise Davidson of Dagsboro; four grandchildren, Jason Davidson, Brian Davidson and his wife Teressa, Renee Sosa and her husband Carlos, and Lindsay Taylor; and a great-grandchild, Logan Sosa.
A visitation will be held from 3 to 3:30 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 21, at the Ocean View Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 38040 Muddy Neck Road, Ocean View, where a celebration of her life will begin at 3:30 p.m. Interment will be private.
