Kenneth A. Brewington, maintenance director

Mr. Kenneth A. Brewington, 79, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, March 14, 2018, in the care of Vitas Hospice and his family.

Kenneth was born in Millsboro Aug. 19, 1938, to the late George E. Brewington Sr. and Agnes M. Clouser Brewington. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brothers Eugene and Paul Brewington; and a sister, Helen Banks; as well as his canine sidekicks Peto and Prissy.

Kenneth served our country in the U.S. Navy. He retired from the Millsboro Nursing Home where he worked as director of maintenance, after approximately 16 years of service. In his earlier years he worked for Bunting and Murray as a carpenter for many years. He was a member of The Journey, A Wesleyan Church in Millsboro, and enjoyed playing pingpong, golf, playing jokes and riding his motorcycle. He will be remembered as a loving and dedicated husband, father, grandfather and brother, and will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Deborah M. Brewington of Millsboro; a son, Hobie J. Brewington and his fiancée Lori Williams of Georgetown; two stepsons, Frank W. Moore of Georgetown and Bruce W. Moore, Ret. 1st. Sgt. USMC of Richlands, N.C.; four sisters, Anna Lee Lewis of Millsboro, Marie DeCelles of Frankford, Jo Adams and her husband Fred of Dagsboro, and June Joseph and her husband Ronald "Porky" of Millsboro; and brother George Brewington Jr. and his wife Marion of Milford. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, Emma, Gunner, Gaige, Hunter, Mark, Luke, Taylor, Quinton and Mykiaja, as well as his canine companion Bubba. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A chapel service will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, March 16, at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro. The Rev. Dan Taylor will officiate.
