Knights of Columbus purchase ultrasound for pregnancy center

December 26, 2016

During the summer of 2016, the Knights of Columbus Council 13348 held Respect Life fundraising events at the parish of St. Jude The Apostle Church in Lewes. Through the generosity of the parishioners, along with funds from the Supreme Knights of Columbus Council, the Knights were able to raise $16,652 to buy a new ultrasound machine for the Sussex Pregnancy Care Center in Georgetown. The machine was ordered and delivered in early December. On Dec. 16, the Knights presented a symbolic check to the Pregnancy Center.

Shown are members from Council 13348 along with some of their wives at the presentation ceremony.  In back (l-r) are Ernie Tramposch; Walt Pinkas, deputy grand knight; and Joe Wilkins.  In the middle are the Rev. In front is Rita Denney, Pregnancy Center director, receiving the check from James Schatz, Council 13348 Grand Knight. Behind the check are Al Derickson, ultrasound project manager; and Rita Gunder.
