Korean War Veterans Association awarded for outstanding support

The Bill Carr Chapter # 1 of the Korean War Veterans Association received an award for Outstanding Support and Commitment to Veterans from the Delaware Veterans Awareness Center Foundation. The foundation’s mission is to assist Delaware veterans to achieve independence and self-sufficiency through access to information and service, including legal, housing, training, employment, dental and advocacy services.

The chapter has donated more than $10,000 over the past two years for a program called Delaware Veterans Stand Down at a local park area in Dover, where more than 1,700 veterans from the Delmarva Peninsula take advantage of the foundation's services.
