KSI holds ribbon cutting for renovated health and wellness center

June 23, 2016

Kent-Sussex Industries Inc. recently held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for its renovated health and wellness center. Funding this project was a collaborative effort with donations from Delaware Community Foundation, Discover Bank, Merck Foundation, Hertrich Toyota, Greater Cincinnati Foundation, The P&G Fund of the Greater Cincinnati Foundation, Gannett Foundation, Milford Lions Club - Eunice Reed Foundation, M&T Charitable Foundation, Safeway Foundation, Walmart Foundation, Village Improvement Association, Bryan and Suzy Hutchison, Dr. Thomas and Susie Kelly, Peter and Mary Ann Varanko, and donors who wish to remain anonymous.

In a typical day, approximately 40 people access KSI’s health and wellness center. Some individuals need personal care assistance, some need a shower, and others need assistance with monitoring their needs. Some individuals regularly check their blood pressure, other people have a nurse who checks their blood glucose and administers insulin, and other individuals are monitored to ensure their medications are being taken correctly. The center also has accessible uni-stall bathrooms. For more information, contact Alicia Hollis, director of community relations, at 302-422-4014 Ext. 3015 or hollisa@ksiinc.org.
