KSI presents appreciation award to family of David R. Hitchens

June 26, 2016

During KSI’s 54th Annual Awards Dinner, in honor and in memory of David R. Hitchens, his wife Rachel and son Brian were presented KSI’s prestigious Nicholas Rodriguez Appreciation Award recognizing Hitchens’ outstanding dedication and support of KSI and its mission.

A member of KSI’s Board of Directors since 1987, Hitchens passed away suddenly May 13 this year. He was not only actively involved with and committed to KSI, but he was also very committed to making his community a better place. This award exemplifies volunteerism and selflessness while striving to enrich the lives of participants served at KSI.

Hitchens’ name has been added to the perpetual Nicholas Rodriguez Appreciation Award plaque displayed in KSI’s boardroom. KSI CEO B. Craig Crouch said, “Dave enjoyed hard work, people and making things better. I feel honored to have known and worked with him.”

KSI is a nonprofit agency, providing vocational training, employment, supported employment and day habilitation services to individuals with disabilities throughout Kent and Sussex counties. For more information, go to www.ksiinc.org.
