Kudos on Gazette Commentary on BeachWalk

November 25, 2016

Kudos to Sallie Forman (founder and president of Rehoboth's Save Our Lakes Alliance - SOLA3 - and Charlie Brown, president of Rehoboth Beach Homeowners' Association, for the outstanding commentary in the Nov. 14 Cape Gazette's Viewpoints section regarding the potential impact that the proposed Beach Walk development would have on the environment and on the health, safety and welfare of the surrounding community.

A copy of their letter may be found at www.capegazette.com/article/serious-concerns-raised-over-beach-walk/118931.

SOLA3 and RBHA are highly regarded community organizations that have repeatedly spoken out on behalf of the citizens of Rehoboth Beach. Their voices cautioning of the threat that Beach Walk poses to our treasured Silver Lake and to the greater environment should not go unheeded.

In evaluating the Beach Walk proposal, it is incumbent upon the city's planning commission to fulfill their responsibilities under the Site Plan Review process to make assessing the impact on the environment and natural resources a priority.
