Landmark Science & Engineering announces staff changes

The board of directors of Landmark Science & Engineering, a regional consulting firm specializing in site/civil engineering, environmental sciences and land surveying, recently made two important staff announcements. Dakota Laidman-Murray, PE, a registered professional engineer in Delaware, has been promoted to the position of associate. Martha W. Durand, RLA, a registered landscape architect in Maryland and Delaware, has recently joined the firm, expanding its in-house services.

Laidman-Murray is a registered professional engineer in Delaware who has worked for Landmark since graduating cum laude from the University of Delaware in 2012. As an associate, she will become more active in operational aspects of the company, including scheduling and resource allocation, mentoring and training. She earned a bachelor of environmental engineering degree with a concentration in water resources and water quality, and a minor in civil engineering from the University of Delaware, and was awarded the Hagerty Environmental Undergraduate Award for demonstrating outstanding professional and research potential in environmental engineering. Laidman-Murray serves as chairperson for the ACEC Delaware Education/Public Relations committee, which awards engineering scholarships and helps promote engineering as a career choice.

Durand is a registered landscape architect in Maryland and Delaware with over 10 years of landscape design, site planning and design experience with residential, commercial, and industrial projects. She earned a bachelor of landscape architecture degree at New York State College of Environmental Science and Forestry at Syracuse. In addition to landscape architecture and planting design, Durand's skills will be utilized in developing conceptual plans, site design, road layout, site grading, stormwater management design and earthwork analysis, review and interpretation of local zoning codes, review of projects for compliance with handicapped access codes, and inspection of projects during construction for compliance with plans and specifications. She has experience in streetscape design and coordination, pavement rehabilitation and sidewalk improvements.
