Laura S. Maiman, gifted artist

June 23, 2017

Laura S. Maiman, 82, of Millsboro, passed away Wednesday, June 21, 2017, at her home. She was born Thursday, April 4, 1935, in Philadelphia, Pa., daughter of the late Hyman and Rose (Wolf) Schubert.

Laura was an avid dog lover; especiallly her Pomeranians and her German Biewer. She was a member, with her dogs, of LEAP (Literacy Education Assistance Pups), where she read with children to the dogs. Laura was also member of the Pom Club of Greater Baltimore.

She held a bachelor of fine arts degree from the Tyler School of Art at Temple University in Philadelphia. Laura was a talented artist whose artwork reflected her love of fantasy and the seashore. She always noticed the beauty in the people around her and was quick to compliment everyone she came in contact with. Laura's most treasured moments, however, were those spent with her many pets and her adored family. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend who was loved by many and will be missed by all.

Laura is survived by her beloved husband of 64 years, Jerome J. Maiman of Millsboro; her daughter Heidi Perkins and her husband Mark of Wilmington, Mass.; her grandsons: Ian Perkins and Jacob Perkins, both of Wilmington; and her surrogate daughter Phyllis (P.J.) Roby of Millsboro.

All services will be private. Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Lewes.

Please visit Laura's Life Memorial Webpage and sign her online guestbook at www.parsellfuneralhomes.com.
