Lewes student Pranay Sanwal wins first place in chess tournament at Worcester Prep

Worcester Prep seventh-grader Pranay Sanwal won first place in the kindergarten through eighth grade category U1000 and a second-place team trophy with his Worcester Prep Chess Club team at the 2016 Delaware National Chess Day Scholastic Tournament Oct. 8.

Pranay is the son of Drs. Pankaj and Vibha Sanwal of Lewes. The event, sponsored by the Delaware Chess Association, was held in Wilmington.
