Lewes is a treasure to uphold

September 15, 2017

I recently departed New England's second-largest city, Worcester, Mass., for a quaint, yet beautiful town known to locals as Lewes. Five short months ago, Lewes was an unknown entity to me.

I have taken time to become acquainted with Lewes town officials, local clergy of numerous faiths, and many of the year-round as well as seasonal residents.

Not easily impressed and known to be very analytical (not judgmental, but analytical), I have gained tremendous respect for the leadership, the dedication, and the commitment of so many to uphold the beauty and uniqueness of Lewes. Besieged by many of the aforementioned entities, be it at town offices, eateries, and even at the beautiful yacht club to become active in the community, I readily felt a sense of belonging within a structured and deeply committed group of proud residents of Lewes.

Having now made my permanent residence in this outstanding community of Lewes, I find my challenge to be worthy of this honor. I look forward to being held accountable as I am blessed to get to know each of you.
