Lillian J. Wilkerson, Milford School District retiree
Lillian J. Wilkerson, 89, of Milford passed away Wednesday, April 4, 2018, at Med Star Washington Hospital Center in Washington, D.C. She was born in Glenolden, Pa., the daughter of the late Clarence W. Sr. and Lillian J. (Barnes) McAllister.
She worked for the Milford School District Food Service for 22 years, retiring in 1978.
Lillian enjoyed her family and her home, gardening, flower arranging, ceramics and swimming.
She was a member of the Sardis U.M. Church, Milford Senior Center, Harrington Senior Center and Frederica Senior Center. Lillian was a charter member of the ladies auxiliary at South Bowers Fire Dept.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Wilkerson; and grandson, Michael R. Joseph.
She is survived by her children, Wayne and wife Debbie Wilkerson of Arkansas, Clarence and wife Donna Wilkerson of Greenwood, and Janet Joseph of Lincoln; three sisters, Doris L. Thomas of Lincoln, Ila Beebe of Magnolia and Lois Russum of Milford; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 11, at noon, in the chapel of Berry-Short Funeral Home, 119 NW Front St., Milford, where friends may call after 10 a.m. Interment will be in Henlopen Memorial Park, Milton.
