Linda R. Broderick, master decorator

February 7, 2018

Linda R. Broderick, 79, of Rehoboth Beach, passed away Friday, Feb. 2, 2018, at St. Francis Hospital in Wilmington. She was born Wednesday, Aug. 3, 1938, in McKeesport, Pa., daughter of the late George Rosenberger and Caroline "Connie" Moon.

Mrs. Broderick was a graduate of Alexis I. DuPont High School, class of 1956, after which she earned a degree from Goldey-Beacom College. A career with Artisans Bank followed. Her interests, many and varied, included extensive traveling and playing golf in her younger years. She enjoyed staying busy with friends' clubs and activities, such as the Red Hats Club and her gardening group. Any time Mrs. Broderick could spend with her treasured friends was a bonus to her day.

We in the family liked to refer to her as "the Master Decorator." She had such creativity and could beautifully decorate any space to look like a photograph from a magazine. Mrs. Broderick was the consummate hostess. She loved to cook and throw dinner parties, and as evidenced by anyone fortunate enough to share a space at her table, she had the ability to make every holiday and birthday an unforgettable occasion. Above all, Mrs. Broderick cherished time spent with her adored family. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister, who was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Broderick was preceded in death by her first husband of 42 years, Henry Morris of Rehoboth Beach; her sister Sue Brown; and her niece Jill Rosenberger. She is survived by her beloved husband, Edward Broderick of Rehoboth Beach; her son, Steve Morris and his wife Alice; her daughter, Tracey Manchester; her grandchildren: Keith Morris and Rebecca Morris; her great-grandchildren: Jayden Dolly and Autumn Morris; her brother Jack Rosenberger and his wife Sandy; her sister, Karen Apostolico and her husband Vincent; her sisters-in-law: Linda Gravatt, Carol Morris, and Marie Bregler; and her stepchildren: Harry F. Martin III and Larissa McCloud.

A Memorial Service will be held Monday, Feb. 12, at 11 a.m., at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, where friends may visit beginning at 10 a.m. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in Mrs. Broderick's memory to a charity of your choice.
