Lisa M. (McCaffrety) Jefferson, loved volunteering

November 29, 2016

Lisa M. (McCaffrety) Jefferson, 56, of Greenwood, passed away Sunday, Nov. 27, 2016, at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital in Seaford. She was born in Lewes April 12, 1960, daughter of the late William G. and Anna M. (Cresmer) McCaffrety.

Mrs. Jefferson was a 1978 graduate of Seaford High School. She worked for Mercantile and PNC banks in Bridgeville for several years, as well as for CNG and Rapa as a secretary. She was also a lifetime employee at the family business, Jeff's Tap Room, where one could always find her smiling face. Mrs. Jefferson attended NA and AA at Georgetown Presbyterian Church, and she loved volunteering at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital and MEARS Center. She also participated in raising funds for countless charities around the community.

Mrs. Jefferson enjoyed relaxing by her pool and traveling. More than anything, however, she cherished time spent with her family; especially her grandchildren, who were the apples of her eye. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Mrs. Jefferson is survived by her beloved husband of 34 years, G.L. Jefferson Jr. of Greenwood; her son, G.L. Jefferson III and his wife Stacey, of Bridgeville; her brother, William McCaffrety of Dover; her sisters: Barbara Rowe of Seaford and Kim Dewey and her husband Kevin of Seaford; and her grandchildren: Gavyn and Kroy Jefferson.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, Dec. 2, at Union United Methodist Church, 2 North Laws St., Bridgeville, where friends may call beginning at noon. A viewing will also be held from 5 to 7 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 1, at Parsell Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Hardesty Chapel, 202 Laws St., Bridgeville. Interment will follow the funeral services at Bridgeville Cemetery.

All services are being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Hardesty Chapel, Bridgeville.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Delmarva Teen Challenge Home of Hope at www.homeofhopede.org or 611 3rd St., Seaford, DE 19973. All funds will go toward the completion of their Home of Hope Women's Center in Bridgeville.
