Littleton leaves Sussex County for NASA

Airport and business park manager’s position open for second time in a year
June 9, 2020

Eric Littleton, who took over as manager of Delaware Coastal Airport and Business Park last October, has left the position and taken a job at the same facility he left last year, NASA's Wallops Island Flight Facility in Virginia.

Chip Guy, director of county communications, said the job has been posted and will be advertised. In the interim, Jim Hickin, who had the position for 12 years, will come out of retirement on a temporary basis until a new manager can be hired.

“I do not have a timeline for when that will be; obviously the sooner the better, but the current situation with the pandemic obviously is a factor,” he said.

Littleton of Bridgveille worked with Hickin starting July 15 before taking over the position when Hickin retired.

As a NASA engineering technician, Littleton is working with a Wallops team on manned and unmanned aviation and ground operations. “I'm very excited to be back in an operations role supporting the NASA mission,” he said.
