Local author Jim Henry to discuss gardening mystery May 13 at East Coast Perennials

May 10, 2017

Local author Jim Henry will appear at East Coast Perennials to promote his new book “Hosta Seizure,” a magical realist gardening mystery.

Henry will be interviewed on “The Delmarva Potting Shed,” broadcast live from East Coast on Delaware 105.9 FM from 10 to 11 a.m., Saturday, May 13. The address is 30366 Cordrey Road, Millsboro.

Recently retired from the University of Hawaii as professor of English, Henry will talk about how he became seized by hostas and why he chose the genre of magical realism to let hostas speak for themselves. He will also field questions about hostas, mysteries, and magical realism from the Potting Shed panel while discussing his work as website manager for the Delmarva Hosta Society.

Book sales and signing will follow the radio broadcast, with each book purchase accompanied by a free starter Stiletto hosta from the author’s garden.

The interview will later be available as a podcast at: www.delaware1059.com/on-demand/delmarva-potting-shed/.
