Lois Emily Long, liked to garden

Lois Emily Long was born to loving parents, Arbruary and Martha Gardner,  Aug. 26, 1940, in Chester, Pa. She grew up in the area.

She loved her dogs and horseback riding as a young girl, graduating from Penncrest High School in 1958. Lois reared her family in Media, Pa., and worked for a time at Strawbridge's in Springfield before starting a long career at Boeing in Chester.

She liked to garden and spend her weekends at the beach with family. Lois especially enjoyed crabbing. She also appreciated fast cars, with a special love for Corvettes. Along with her husband, Bill, she retired to Milton in 2000.

Lois is preceded in death by her late husband, Bill Long and her beloved Chihuahua, Bitsie. She is survived by her daughter, Joan King and her husband Mark of St. Johns, Fla.; her son, John Worrilow of Jacksonville, Fla.; along with her two grandchildren, Kaitlyn Worrilow of Port Orange, Fla., and Dilan Worrilow of Galena, Md.

Memorial services will be held in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 609 E. Market St., Georgetown, Monday, Oct. 16, at 11:30 a.m. A time of visitation will take place beginning at 10 a,m.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial gifts be sent to: CHEER Senior Services, 546 S. Bedford St., Georgetown, DE 19947.
