Lucien Gerald Mallet Sr., Eucharistic minister
Lucien Gerald Mallet Sr., 85, of Milton, passed away Sunday, Feb. 19, 2017, at Delaware Hospice Center in Milford. He was born Saturday, Feb. 28, 1931, in Perenchies, France, son of the late Albert and Fernande (Beels) Mallet.
Mr. Mallet worked for many years for Giant Foods as a baker, a job he loved very much. He proudly served in the U.S. Army. He was a former usher and Eucharistic Minister at St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church in Lewes.
Mr. Mallet is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Ann Marie (Matthews) Mallet of Milton; his children, Lucien G. Mallet Jr. (Vicky) of Milton, and Marie Piazza (Jim) of Lignum, Va.; his six grandchildren: Michael Mallet, Melissa Squier, Amanda Bogan, Meagan Mallet, Tony Piazza and Brittani Piazza; his four great-grandchildren; and his two sisters: Claudine Mareels of Royan, France, and Marie Heerd of Bradenton, Fla.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, Feb. 23, at 11 a.m., at St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church, 152 Tulip Drive, Lewes. Burial will follow the services at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Millsboro.
Friends may call Wednesday, Feb. 22, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes.
