Man sought for taking jewelry from Rehoboth Beach store

September 25, 2017

Rehoboth police are searching for a man who they say stole jewelry from a Rehoboth store.

The man entered the store in the first block of Rehoboth Avenue at 1:30 p.m. Sept. 16 and removed jewelry from a display, said Lt. Jaime Riddle of the Rehoboth Beach Police Department.

The man left the store and when the store clerk, 78, confronted the man, Riddle said, the man punched the store clerk in the face. The clerk received a minor cut from the punch, he said.

The stolen merchandise is valued at under $100.

Anyone with information on the suspect pictured is asked to contact Detective Tyler Whitman at 302-524-1391 or Delaware Crime Stoppers at 800-847-3333. Tips also can be shared online at delaware.crimestoppersweb.com or cityofrehoboth.com/form/government/departments/police/submit-crime-tip.

No further information is available, Riddle said.
