Margaret A. Cain, had a green thumb

Margaret A. Cain, 83, of Selbyville, formerly of Beltsville, Md., passed away surrounded by her family Monday, Aug. 21, 2017, at her home. She was born in Washington, D.C., daughter of the late Henry Warfield Buckler and Margaret Loretta (Madigan) Buckler.

Margaret was an avid Redskins fan. She hosted football parties whenever the Skins played. She had a green thumb when it came to gardening and tending to her plants, and loved decorating her yard and house for the holidays. She also enjoyed watching and ordering from QVC and HSN. She was deeply devoted to her family and thoroughly enjoyed time spent with them.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph F. Cain and a brother, Joseph Buckler. She is survived by six children, Joseph Cain of Maurertown, Va., Patricia Donnelly of Millville, Katherine DeLancey (William Byrd) of Adamstown, Md., Loretta (Robert) Loftus of Mt. Airy, Md., Michael Cain of Frederick, Md., and Stephen Cain of Burtonsville, Md.; five grandchildren, Angela Cain Reed, Jay DeLancey, Shawn DeLancey, Rachael Cain and Lorin Loftus; a brother, Thomas (Sally) Buckler of South Carolina; four great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter.

A viewing for friends and family will be held Monday, Aug. 28, from 10 to 11 a.m., at the Church of the Resurrection, 3315 Greencastle Road, Burtonsville. A Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow at 11 a.m. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in Margaret's name to Compassionate Care Hospice, 20165 Office Circle, Georgetown, DE 19947.
