Marilee Miller Backus, devoted to family

Mrs. Marilee Miller Backus, 90, of Millsboro, born Jan. 13, 1928, in West Virginia, wife of the Rev. Dr. Arthur Backus, passed away Thursday, May 24, 2018, as peacefully and quietly as she lived her life.

She was the daughter of John and Bertha Miller, and is survived by her husband and four children, Howard, Harold, Steven and Janice and their spouses; 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Everyone who knew Marilee loved her quiet, soft-spoken and cheerful manner. She was a faithful member of the United Methodist Church. She devoted and dedicated her life to her family and supporting her husband's ministry.

Viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, May 30, at Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, May 31, at Zoar United Methodist Church, 24463 Gravel Hill Road, Millsboro, where friends may visit with the family and pay their respects from 10 to 11 a.m. Burial will be private at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
