Mariner volleyball falls in three

The Mariner volleyball team fell to Georgetown Middle School 2-1 Sept. 27 at home. They moved to 0-3 on the season, previously dropping matches to Sussex Academy 2-1 and Millsboro Middle 2-0.

Key players in the match were Kearah Andrews, Kayla Corbin, Taonshaye Trader, Giselle Garcia and Tyller Maltbie.

Other team members are Kayla Kline, Madyson Engel, Lily Joyce, Emma Scoda, Baylee Wesson, Sydney Bryck, Julianna Souder, Desiree Robinson, Isabella Lewis, Dakota Trumbauer, Calista Turman, Marleigh Blank, Leah Sheridan and Gabrielle Jones.

According to Mariner coach Nicole Scott, the team is trying hard and striving to get better.

“Our team is young and shows a lot of promise,” said Scott. “I’m fortunate to coach such an amazing group of young ladies. They are improving every day.”

The Vikings will host Delmar Middle School Monday, Oct. 2, at the Mariner gym.
