Marlyn Elizabeth Warrington, family was everything to her

Marlyn Elizabeth Warrington, 84, of Rehoboth Beach, beloved wife of Earl (Jake) Warrington, passed away peacefully at Beebe Healthcare, Lewes, Monday, March 27, 2017, due to complications of esophageal cancer. She was born to the late Edgar and Mary Cole Oct. 4, 1932.

She graduated from Union Memorial Hospital in Maryland. After moving to Rehoboth Beach in the 1960s, she worked at Beebe Hospital briefly, then was employed at Maple Grove Nursing Home, where her passion was taking care of the elderly. She was very active in the Rehoboth Presbyterian Church of Midway as an elder and clerk of session for 20 years.

She loved camping in their motorhome with her husband and family. She loved being a farmer's wife and homemaker. Husband and family were everything to her. Her heart was bigger than life itself; she never had an unkind word to say about anyone and was always very positive. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, who will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter Karen Ann Reeves; grandson Chad Christopher Long; sister-in-law Joyce Cole; nephew Chuck Cole; brother-in-law Francis Warrington Sr.; and sister-in-law Gladys Warrington. She is survived by her beloved husband of 40 years, Earl (Jake) Warrington; one daughter, Susan E. Long and her husband Christopher; her brothers, Edgar G. Cole Jr. and Charles Cole and his wife Joan; her sister-in-law Elsie Gould; her grandchildren, Stephanie Long and her fiancé Trip Wyatt, and Brandon Bailey Reeves; her in-laws, Gary and Kathy Long; and many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and -nephews, cousins and dear friends.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, March 31, at 11 a.m., at Parsell Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, where friends may call beginning at 10 a.m. Interment will follow services at Rehoboth Presbyterian Cemetery, Rehoboth Beach.
