Martha Ellen Sulcoski, skilled seamstress

April 24, 2018

Martha Ellen Sulcoski, 72, of Lewes, passed away Monday, April 23, 2018, at Christiana Care Health Systems in Newark. She was born Friday, Jan. 25, 1946, in East Stroudsburg, Pa., daughter of the late Thomas Little and Marion H. Stout.

Martha was a graduate of East Stroudsburg High School, class of 1964, where she was a proud member of the East Stroudsburg High Marching Band. Those close to her knew her as strong-willed, tough-minded, soft-hearted, and truly devoted. Not one to shy away from getting her hands dirty, Martha enjoyed many personal passions from amateur gardening to homestyle gourmet. Throughout her life, Martha also explored her creative side through a tireless love of quilting, knitting and sewing. As a member of CHEER of Long Neck, she donated her skills as a seamstress providing handmade garments for the benefit of the troops and the elderly. Together with her husband, Frank, Martha built a genuine mom-and-pop business in the Poconos area spanning 20 years with the help of their four boys. She will be forever in the hearts, minds and lives of those she loved.

Martha is survived by her beloved husband, Frank Sulcoski; her sons: Jeffrey Sulcoski, Trevor Sulcoski, Stephen Sulcoski and Matthew Sulcoski; and her grandchildren: Amanda Sulcoski, Sammy Sulcoski, Andrew Carpenter, Mirielle Perry, Cassandra Perry and Colin Sulcoski.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, April 27, at 11 a.m., at St. Jude the Apostle Church, 152 Tulip Drive, Lewes, where friends may call beginning at 10 a.m. Interment will be private. Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Lewes.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in Martha's memory to Long Neck CHEER, 26089 Long Neck Road, Millsboro, DE 19966, or the American Heart Association, 200 Continental Drive, Suite 101, Newark, DE 19713.
