I grew up in town Rehoboth Beach in Country Club Estates. I attended Rehoboth Elementary as a child, then Lewes Middle School, then graduated from Cape Henlopen High School. I later returned to Rehoboth Beach after college.
A lot has changed. I have always felt comfortable giving Kathy my input on the town workings, the cleanliness, the parking situation, or whatever the pressing issues were at the time. I have seen first hand, a changed area. Anyone in and around Rehoboth knows how hard Kathy McGuiness works for her hometown and how much she gets done.
I can remember her being outspoken and fighting for the state/federal funding for the beginning of the multi-million-dollar streetscape project. She persisted to get an unused $5 million earmarked for a Milton overpass redirected to Rehoboth. She deserves the credit for not giving up, even though she had strong opposition on the council.
Kathy McGuiness and Stan Mills were the main leaders of the Boardwalk committee. Kathy personally worked with our 14th District Rep. Pete Schwartzkopf. It was Speaker Schwartzkopf and then Senator Biden who secured those funds for the $8 million Boardwalk infrastructure upgrade.
I just want credit to go where credit is due.
Kathy has more energy than anyone I ever met and gets results. She fights, gets hit, and pops right back up. She's fighting for those of us who reside and have our homes here. I want Kathy representing me. She's the common sense commissioner in a place where there's sometimes no common sense.
Vote for Kathy!
