McGuiness thanks voters of Rehoboth

August 18, 2017

I want to express my sincere thanks to all who came out to vote Saturday in the questionable weather. Thanks, too, to those who made the effort to absentee vote prior to Aug. 12. Those of you who travelled from western Pennsylvania, or flew in from Los Angeles to vote - well, what a moving gesture! My sincere thanks to all supporters!

As I have stated this entire campaign, kudos to all who throw their hats in the ring, taking time from their families to offer to serve.
I want to congratulate Commissioner Paul Kuhns, now mayor-elect, who will be at the helm as mayor of the City of Rehoboth Beach. We welcome his leadership.

And welcome to newcomer Lisa Schlosser for a great work ethic - I look forward to rolling up our sleeves and getting to work.

Susan Gay and her team ran a great campaign, so thank you for making me work harder, later, knock on extra doors and more!

Growing up in Rehoboth Beach, I have served alongside Sam Cooper for 15-plus of his 33 years as a public servant. I thank him for his care and service to the city we all love.

As I begin my sixth term as commissioner I look forward to doing my best to be responsive, responsible and respectful, always fighting on your behalf whether you are a resident, property owner or business owner. It's a new day. See you in town!

With gratitude,

Kathy McGuiness
Commissioner, Rehoboth Beach
