Megan James Group joins BHHS Gallo Realty

The Megan James Group comprises two talented real estate professionals who share the same values and work ethic as the firm they are joining. They are a father/daughter duo committed to delivering a flawless real estate experience to their clients. The group specializes in new home communities in the Rehoboth, Lewes, Dewey and Bethany Beach areas. In this ever-growing community, they have conquered the overwhelming task of researching numerous builders and communities to make the process of building a new home easy and enjoyable for their clients.
Megan Honeysett has been in the real estate industry since 2005. She began her career with Pulte Homes, a national homebuilder, in the Philadelphia area after graduating with a marketing degree. In 2009, she made the switch to residential real estate and joined Prudential Fox and Roach in Media, Pa. (now Berkshire Hathaway). She and her husband Mike, a residential construction specialist, moved their family to Lewes in 2013 when he was offered a position with one of the area’s top builders, Schell Brothers. She has joined Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices with the goal of helping buyers navigate the complex new home market in southern Delaware. Her knowledge of the area, strong builder relationships and familiarity with the new home buying process make her a great resource for her clients. “I consider myself a matchmaker. I truly enjoy the process of finding the right home and lifestyle for my clients,” said Honeysett. “There are so many options in Sussex County. It was difficult to find the right new construction home for our family when we moved here. Now that I know the area, the builders and the resale market, I can simplify the process for my clients and, hopefully make it fun.”
Her father, James Smith, can identify with clients searching for vacation or retirement homes in coastal Delaware. He and his wife Mary purchased a vacation home in Rehoboth Beach in 2012, and they have been enjoying the beach life ever since. They enjoy biking into town, strolling the Boardwalk, relaxing on the beach, dining at the fabulous local restaurants and hosting family barbecues with their three children and four grandchildren (with No. 5 on the way).
Smith recently completed a long business career as a sales and marketing professional in the information technology industry, most recently with Unisys Corp. and Vertex Inc. Prior to his IT career, he was a high school mathematics teacher and also worked part time as a real estate agent with an agency now part of Berkshire Hathaway Fox & Roach Realtors. He holds undergraduate and graduate degrees from Villanova University and an MBA from West Chester University. Having purchased two new-construction homes, he also has personal experience with the building process. Combine this with his years of marketing and sales experience, and it is easy to see how he was his daughter’s top choice for a real estate partner. When his wife said she was more than happy to help and spend extra time with her grandchildren, the Megan James Group was born.
