MGuiness wants what’s best for Rehoboth

August 11, 2017

My family and I are full-time residents of Rehoboth Beach. My wife and I have raised two daughters here.

I have served on the city's planning commission and was involved with Rehoboth Beach Main Street in the early years as a board member and the second president of that organization. Over the years, I have worked with and observed Kathy McGuiness in her many efforts on behalf of our city.

Kathy McGuiness is not a "yes person" who simply rubber stamps the current mayor's agenda. As a city commissioner, she has taken the lead when it comes to independent thought on issues facing our city.

From her days as the first Rehoboth Beach Main Street president, where she led the efforts to beautify the downtown business area with new, more attractive signs and building facades, to her current efforts as a city commissioner trying to protect residents and business owners alike from the extra costs and possible tax increases resulting from the cost overruns for the new city hall construction and the ocean outfall project, Kathy McGuiness has always been active in protecting what is best about Rehoboth Beach.

Her energy and open-minded common sense approach to the issues facing our city are exactly what we need now and for the future. Please join my family and me in voting for Kathy McGuiness for city commissioner.
