Mid-Del Foundation of Harrington Raceway awards grants

The Mid-Del Foundation, the charitable arm for Harrington Raceway and Casino, held its annual grant luncheon on Nov. 13 in the casino's Gold Room. Representatives from 30 local organizations were on hand to receive financial grants.

Supporting organizations and activities involving agricultural, civic and social needs existing in Delaware, the foundation was established to consolidate the charitable undertakings of Harrington Raceway Inc.

Organizations that received grants included American Legion Ambulance Station 64, C.E.R.T.S. Inc., CHEER Inc., Clear Space Theatre, Delaware 4-H Foundation, Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition, Delaware Ducks Unlimited, Delaware Farm Bureau Foundation, Delaware Hospice, DVFA Foundation, Easterseals Delaware and Maryland's Eastern Shore, Frederica Spring Creek Lions Club, Greenwood Police Department, Harrington Lions Club, Harrington Police Department, Harrington Parks and Recreation, Harrington Sunshine 4-H Club, Harvest Years Senior Center, Home of the Brave, Kent Conservation District, Mental Health Association in Delaware, Milford Rotary Club Education Foundation, Milford Senior Center, Ministry of Caring, Modern Maturity Center, Read Aloud Delaware, Rehoboth Art League, Ronald McDonald House of Delaware, The Center for Therapeutic and Educational Riding, and VSA Delaware.

"These organizations work diligently throughout the year to reach countless people in our community," said Howell Wallace, Mid-Del Foundation president. "We are happy to support their efforts and hope that our grants aid in achieving their goals. We earnestly appreciate their work and are thankful to be able to contribute to their continued success."
