Mid-Del Foundation helps Easterseals participants get creative

December 14, 2017

Easterseals Delaware & Maryland's Eastern Shore recently received a grant through The Mid-Del Foundation, the charitable arm for Harrington Raceway and Casino, to support Easterseals Artfulness service for people with disabilities.

The Artfulness service allows participants who attend Easterseals day services a chance to immerse themselves in the arts by attending art classes, events like a Philadelphia Orchestra concert, and trips to places like the Delaware Art Museum. Through this grant, Easterseals will expand the service to its Sussex location.

"These organizations work diligently throughout the year to reach countless people in our community," said Howell Wallace, Mid-Del Foundation president. "We are happy to support their efforts and hope that our grants aid in achieving their goals. We earnestly appreciate their work and are thankful to be able to contribute to their continued success."

Easterseals Delaware & Maryland's Eastern Shore offers a range of services including children's therapies, assistive technology, recreational camping, day programs for adults with physical or intellectual disabilities, and respite services for caregivers.
