Millsboro girls donate to Food Rescue Program

December 7, 2016

This past summer, two young girls in Millsboro decided they wanted to earn some spending money. They began running errands for neighbors, babysitting and whatever else a parent or neighbor might need help with. Their grandmother, who is a volunteer at the Community Resource Center Food Rescue Program, also assisted the girls in their efforts. At the end of the summer, the girls' grandfather asked them what they wanted to do with the $47.85 they had earned, and they both responded they would like to contribute the money to "Grandma's hungry people at the CRC.” Dianne Shearon, director of the CRC Food Rescue Program, says the two girls have demonstrated the true meaning of Christmas.
