Millsboro Lions Club installs officers at annual meeting

Millsboro Lions Club held its annual installation of officers June 13 at the Nutter Marvel Carriage Museum in Georgetown. Officers for 2017-18 are President David Mitchell, Secretary Mary Lee Phillips, Treasurer Bea Shockley, Tail Twister Alberta Ryan and directors Everett Rust, Donald Ward, Ted Parker and Janet McCarty. Presiding officer was PDG Karl Gude from the Lord Baltimore Lions Club. The Millsboro Club is in its 77th year of service.  

Joan Carmine of Millsboro was inducted as a new member.

For his service to the community, Mitchell Rogers received the prestigious Melvin Jones Fellowship, the highest award a club can bestow on a member. 

For his dedication to Lions for the last 35 years, David Mitchell was awarded the Knights of the Blind Pyramid from the Lions Low Vision and Vision Rehabilitation Service at the Johns Hopkins Wilmer Eye Institute. Mitchell is serving for the fifth time as president.
