Milton Arts Guild announces March exhibition

Celebration of the Arts
February 25, 2018

The Milton Arts Guild has announced its special judged showing of student art at the Celebration of the Arts. Over 30 Visual Art students from Cape Henlopen High School will "show their stuff" at the annual exhibition supporting national Youth Art Month. Works will include watercolor, pen and ink, acrylic, mixed media, and colored pencil. Thanks to CHHS Visual Arts teacher James Ruback these students were guided in their work.

MAG will be awarding three monetary prizes - first place, $100, second place, $75, and third place, $50, plus ribbons will be awarded to honorable mentions. Art Educator Elaine Ippolito will judge the exhibition. Teaching art in the classroom for over 35 years, Ippolito graduated with a masters in art education from West Virginia University. She has exhibited her artwork throughout Delaware, as well as national art exhibits.

A special Opening Reception will be held Sunday, March 4, from 2 to 4 p.m., to allow the participants, family, and public to fully enjoy the efforts of these talented students. The reception is free to the public with complementary refreshments.

The Milton Arts Guild annually awards student scholarships to graduating seniors later in the school year. Participants in this exhibition are eligible for this scholarship.

Milton Arts Guild Gallery is open Wednesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m., located at 310 Walnut St. in historic Milton.
