Milton Garden Club seeks scholarship applications by March 15

February 4, 2017

The Milton Garden Club is known for beautiful wreaths, downtown planters and gardens, and the famous dessert of the month raffle. The club also awards scholarships to students pursuing postsecondary education.

This year, the garden club will be awarding two scholarships worth $3,000 each. One will be in memory of former member Frankie Ditman.

To be eligible, a student must be a resident of the Cape Henlopen School District attendance area and demonstrate a commitment to the study of horticulture, plant science, agriculture or another related science. The 2016 scholarship winner was Shannon McCall, a Cape graduate attending Morehead State with a major in ag business and a minor in ag education.

Applications are available on Cape Henlopen, Delmarva Christian and Sussex Tech high school websites. The deadline for applications is March 15.
