The Milton Little League 11-12 All-Stars will play Laurel at 7 p.m., Thursday, July 21, in a winner-take-all game at Lewes Little League.

Milton defeated Laurel July 18 by a score of 9-1 to advance to the championship round. Laurel then defeated Nanticoke in the lower bracket to setup a rematch with Milton July 20, which it won 5-2.

Milton couldn’t pull off a sixth-inning, two-out rally.
With Laurel up 5-0 at the start of the sixth inning, Milton’s Austin Rhue hit a two-strike double to move Brian Sponaugle to third base. Luke Crouch then drove a two-RBI single to right field. After Paris Mitchell walked, the Milton team had the tying run at the plate. It didn’t happen, as the Laurel team pulled off the victory to set up the July 21 championship game.

In Milton’s July 18 win over Laurel, Hunter Rauch went 3-for 3-with from the plate with a home run, a double and three RBIs. Tyler Husbands hit his fourth home run in three tournament games and added a triple and three RBIs. He also pitched five innings and had 13 strikeouts. Timothy Hitchcock had two hits and pitched the final inning, striking out two, to earn the save.
