Milton Majors drop first game of regionals

Plays again Tuesday at 4 pm
August 6, 2017

The Milton All-Stars fell behind early 2-0 when Pennsylvania’s Matt Tsiaras hit a homer in the first inning. Milton fought back, but couldn’t overcome the deficit, falling by a score of 4-3.

The Upper Providence, Pa. squad added another run in the second and fourth innings, and the Delaware players found themselves in a come-from-behind position.

Milton scored one in the third and added two in the fifth, but Upper Providence held on to tally their first win in the Mid-Atlantic Regional.

“We did put some runs on the board,” said Milton manager Zac Crouch. “But we didn’t do what got us here. We weren’t patient and we weren’t selective. No one wants to lose. We were in that game, and we’ll come back ready to play on Tuesday.”

Milton’s gloves were steady as they didn’t commit a single error in the field.

Delaware will play Plainview Little League of New York in an elimination game at 4 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 8; that team lost 9-0 to New Jersey Aug. 7.

The game will be broadcast live online at ESPN 3.
