Milton Majors faceoff with Brandywine for state title

The Milton Major All-Stars defeated Middletown, Odessa, Townsend 9-0 July 25 to advance to the championship round of the state tournament. They will have to beat Brandywine twice in order to advance to the Eastern Regional championship. 

Nick Cox pitched three-inning shutout, allowing no hits before a rain delay. He then gave up two hits in the fourth and registered four strikeouts on the night. 

Tyler Husbands came into pitch two innings, allowing no hits with three strikeoutsTimmy Hitchcock pitched last inning gave up one hit and had one strikeout. 

A big play came in the fourth inning when Milton turned a double play with two runners on base. Milton played stellar defense throughout the night.  

At the plate, Tyler Husbands went 2-for-3 two RBIs, Hunter Rauch had a double, Chase Boyle was 2-for-4, Nick Cox hit a double with two RBIs and Timmy Hitchcock went 2-for-2.

Milton now faces Brandywine at Newark National Little League at 7 p.m., Tuesday, July 26. If they win, they will be back in action at 7 p.m., Wednesday, July 27.
