Three Milton-based organizations received $13,000 in donations thanks to proceeds raised during the 10th annual Milton Saint Patrick's Day Parade held earlier this year.

Members of the Milton Saint Patrick’s Day Parade Association and Irish Eyes Pub & Restaurant presented the checks June 7 in Milton Memorial Park, and also received state and local honors for the community-driven parade.

The Milton Fire Department received a $6,000 donation from the parade proceeds, and showed their appreciation by presenting the local business with a plaque celebrating Irish Eyes' commitment to community.

The Milton Chamber of Commerce also received a $4,000 donation, while John Potocki of Milton Salon accepted a $3,000 donation on behalf of the Gladys Wilkins Seeding the Future Scholarship Fund.

During the presentations, state Rep. Steve Smyk also read a House tribute in honor of Irish Eyes’ commitment to bringing residents together during the parade and race while also giving back to the community.
