Milton T. Ayers, retired mechanic

Mr. Milton T. Ayers, 78, of Millsboro passed away peacefully Sunday, April 22, 2018, at Beebe Medical Center in Lewes.

Mr. Ayers was born Jan. 23, 1940, in Belle Haven, Va., to the late Isaac and Rachel West Ayers. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his wife Vida B. Ayers in 2004; a son, Billy G. Johnson in 2017; as well as his siblings, Lillie, DeLois, Jeanette, Hattie, Elizabeth, Magdelene and Joseph.

Milton retired from the State of Delaware Highway Department where he worked as a mechanic for approximately 39 years.

He is survived by two sons, Milton T. Ayers Jr. of Milford, and Ronnell Ayers of Millsboro; and a special granddaughter whom Mr. Ayers raised as his own, Dishonda Boyers along with her children, Joshua, Ja’ Riah, Terreana, and Ta’Keah. He is also survived by six grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, May 1, at Friendship United Methodist Church, 30983 Friendship Road, Millsboro, where friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. for a time of viewing and visitation.
