Mispillion Kennel Club schedules obedience classes

September 18, 2016

The Mispillion Kennel Club has announced its schedule of fall obedience classes will begin Thursday, Sept. 22, with class registration at 6:30 p.m. at the Milford Community Center, 105 N.E. Front St., Milford.

A Canine Good Citizen (beginner's obedience) class and an advanced beginner's class for dogs that have already completed a beginner's course are available. Puppies must be at least four months old to take the beginner's class. The advanced class will give the handlers an opportunity to fine-tune the basic lessons, learn new commands and sample other activities in which owners can participate with their dogs.

Mispillion Kennel Club members will be on hand during registration to answer questions and evaluate the dogs that are being registered for classes. Dog training collars will be available for purchase at cost. Bring dog and up-to-date veterinary records for the registration. All dogs must have proof of a current rabies shot; a basic set of vaccines is also recommended. Registrations will be accepted until 7:45 p.m.. Mispillion Kennel Club reserves the right to reject any dog that shows aggressive tendencies.

Payment of $75 for each dog will be collected at the time of registration. Payment must be in cash or a check made payable to MKC Inc. No debit or credit cards are accepted.

The first class will begin Thursday, September 29 at 6:30 p.m. at the Community Center. If any class is cancelled, a class will be added on to the last scheduled week. Inquires may be made by phone to Mary Lukaszewski at 302-337-0142 or by email at mlukas@sprintmail.com.

Additional details will be available at the time of registration or at www.mispillionkc.org.
