January 21, 2017

Mixed Blessings, the Lewes a cappella pop group founded by Roo Brown, will be performing at the Milton Theatre at 8 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 28. The Mixed Blessings sing music from the Beatles to Bernstein, and many of the ballads, show tunes and pop songs of the Great American Songbook. Audience members will hear Rodgers and Hart, the Gershwins, Irving Berlin, Johnny Mercer, and Todd Chappelle's amazing salute to the state of Delaware.

Singer-songwriter-guitarist Chappelle will be joining Mixed Blessings for an evening of music from the Great American Songbook. Chappelle is a comedy songwriter who does a mix of funny original songs and parodies. His music is influenced by such artists as Weird Al Yankovic, Tom Lehrer and Stephen Lynch. He is the winner of the 2015 Delmarva Folk Hero contest, and he appeared in the 2015 PBS specials "Dela-Where?" and "Dela-Where? 2."

Doors open at 7 p.m. Tickets range from $15 to $20. The address is 110 Union St., Milton. For more information or to purchase tickets, go to www.MiltonTheatre.com or call 302-684-3038.
