Mobile pet food pantry to travel July 16

June 26, 2017

Partners for Paws Delaware Director Kate Hungerford announced its mobile pet food pantry will hit the road Sunday, July 16, to help keep Sussex County pets in their homes.

Difficult economies result in tough choices regarding family pets for households struggling to stretch their limited resources. When faced with the choice of purchasing pet food or providing for the family's needs, many have to make the heartbreaking decision to give up their pet at a time when unconditional love from a pet is needed most.

A photo ID is required to receive pet food. Organizers are dealing with beach traffic and may experience delays getting to listed locations.

• From 8 to 9 a.m., July 16, the pantry will be at Millville Pet Stop, 35167 Atlantic Ave., Millville.

• From 9:45 to 10:45 a.m., the pantry will be at Tail Bangers, 24546 Betts Pond Road, Millsboro.

• From 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., the pantry will be at Fitzgerald's Salvage & Recycling, 17115 Fitzgeralds Road, Milford.

• From 1:15 to 2:15 p.m., the pantry will be at Western Sussex Animal Hospital, 16847 Sussex Highway, Bridgeville.

• From 3 to 4 p.m., the pantry will be at Eastern Shore Veterinary Hospital, 32384 Sussex Highway, Laurel.

The public is asked to share this information with families who are truly in need. Organizers have the right to refuse food for any reason to anyone.

A registered 501c3 nonprofit, Partners for Paws' mission is to partner with animal rescues and the community in Sussex County to save homeless pets.
